Lay Speaking, "Basic Course" First UMC, Santa Rosa

On May 12 and 26, the “Basic Course in Lay Speaking” will be offered in Santa Rosa. Lead by Glo Wellman, this two-part course will be held at First UMC in Santa Rosa on Montgomery Drive from 9 am to 4 pm. This Basic Course gives an overview of Lay Speaking Ministries. With scriptural study and large and small group discussion, we will explore what it means to be a full participant in church leadership, understanding our spiritual gifts and how we can reach out to others through caring and service. All those who would like to strengthen their personal and spiritual lives and to better serve the church are encouraged to attend. This is also the required course for those wishing to become certified as a Local Lay Speakers in their churches. People can register online or at the first meeting of this course.
