PURPOSE: Loans of up to $200,000 are made to churches at an interest of 6.25% fixed per annum. Loans are secured by a Note and recorded Deed of Trust. This fund is used for loans to churchs and guarantees on UMDF loans, with priority given to new construction and renovations. Children and youth in SUMU designated churches needing assistance in financing their participation in camps or youth events or special events sponsored by the CA-NV Annual Conference may apply to the Sacramento United Methodist Union (SUMU) which is offering scholarships at up to 50% of the cost for camp or an event. Funds are limited. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need as long as funds are available.

Conference Lay Ministry Training provides an opportunity for spiritual discernment, as well as tools for worship leading, preaching, Bible study, and all aspects of local church leadership. The training empowers and equips lay people to serve God in ministry and advances the work of the California-Nevada Annual Conference in making disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Applications and all five references are required to be completed a minimum of two (2) weeks prior to the beginning date of the training. All paperwork must be sent to your District Superintendent as one complete package. Mail or deliver the package to the District Administration Center.

To secure a spot in the training, a non-refundable $100 deposit and a copy of the first page of the applicaation must be sent to the attention of Perry Polk. Please indicate the type of training and the entry date you prefer. Make checks payable to the "California-Nevada Annual Conference."
