Montague UMC Rehabilitation Project
Montague United Methodist Church located in northern Siskiyou County was established in 1894 and built in 1901. The project that is under way is the building of a new social hall. The church is in the heart of the community. We are seeking to respect the history that the beautiful 1901 sanctuary has given us and expand by building a social hall behind the current one. You are invited to join us in service with a variety of projects that will include siding, sheet rock hanging and finishing, painting and hanging windows and doors.
For more information about this project or to plan a trip, go to the "Volunteer Opportunity" page at: http://cnumc.org/vim/detail/98.
Dresses for Haiti
In the summer of 2012, the Rev. Dawn Boyd, Minister of Discipleship at San Ramon Valley United Methodist Church in Alamo, California, started a small group that is learning about Haiti and UMC missions there – especially those of the California-Nevada Annual Conference.
The group launched a project to make dresses for little girls in Thomas, Haiti and sent 200 to Haiti with Warren McGuffin in Sept. 2012.
Visit http://www.cnumc.org/faithinactionstories/detail/57 to read the Faith in Action story, "Dresses for Haiti."
Rev. Boyd has offered to be a resource for a church that would like to get involved in a dressmaking project for Haiti – or any hot-weather country where children need clothes. Contact her at dboyd@srvumc.org.
